Getting Big: 2 Months!

Look who's two months!  Here's some fun stats/milestones for him:

He's still in size 1 diapers, but now fits in 0-3 months clothes.
He weighed 10.5 at his 2 month appointment which  makes him 20% in weight
He measured 22.25 inches at the same appointment, which makes him 25% in height.
I thought he'd be more than that!  He's feeling so hefty and just thick.  I think he has his father's metabolism.
At the same appointment he got his shots.  He screamed like a banshee when they went in.  But, he stopped as soon as I picked him up. Which made me feel really good, thinking I had stopped the pain.  HA!  He was pretty much Mr. Screams the rest of the night and has been fussy on and off for about four days after.  They say that is normal with the roto-whatever-i-can't-remember-the-name-shot.  He's never been like that and it broke my heart.  I had also never heard an 'i'm in pain cry' and there is nothing else that makes you feel lower as a parent.  It's like someone's kicking you in the ovaries with steel towed boots.
He can pretty much hold his head up now.  It's still a little wobbly, but he can do it for minutes at a time!
He sits and bats at his eye with just his left or right hand when he's tired--but never both at the same time.
Speaking of which, now he tends to be favoring his left hand and uses it a lot more than his right. Claudy is hoping that this means he'll be ambidextrous since he was doing this with his right last month. We'll see...
He still keeps both of his hands clinched in fists for 90% of the time.  He always looks like a little boxer to me.  Then, he always is wiggling his fingers when they're not clinched--maybe he'll play the piano like mom?
His nails are constantly dirty!  I swear he's such a man already.  They're literally brown or black under the nails, which beats me because it's not like he's playing in the dirt yet.  All he ever does is lay on blankets that aren't dirty??
He doesn't scream bloody murder when he change his diaper which is soo nice and I'm sure our neighbors appreciate.  But every once in awhile when he's tired he still will, it's like he's reminding us that he rules the coop and could punish us at any moment! ;)
You may not believe this, but I've seen him do this twice. He's had his binky fall out of his mouth, getting onto his chest.  Slowly, ever so slowly, he moves his arm up.  It's like he knows his arm should be able to help him out, but he's not sure how.  He kinda sweeps the binky with his arm while vigorously pushing his lips in and out.  Eventually between the two motions he gets it in.  It's hilarious to watch!  Of course, he can only do that when he's in a good mood, if he's frustrated and it falls out then it's a game of 'let's see how many times mom is willing to pop it back in for me'.
He is liking bathes--as in not crying--but his face still shows pure indecisiveness and like he's about to cry at any moment should it go awry.
He LOVES his play mat!!  He sits and coos at the birds that hang down.  We call them 'angry birds'.  He also hits at them.  I don't think it's in a coordinated fashion like he's doing it on purpose yet.  He just likes swinging his arms and I put them in reach.  He still seems delighted then when they go aswingin' from his movement.  There is also a sun at the top that lights up and he'll sit and smile and coo at it as well.
He also kicks a ton and will kick to show his pleasure.
For possibly having a food allergy and diarrhea for a few weeks now he's still happy 80% of the time.  He's quite a happy baby and I'm so grateful for that.  I'm also grateful that when he is being a stinker that I have such a hands on hubby that I can poke and say 'it's your turn' no matter day or night.
He's staying awake more for car rides, they don't put him out immediately like they used to, but I think he just loves looking at everything.
Even the Dr. was impressed at how 'social' he was.  She said he has great focusing and starring skills for someone as young as him.  He loves to just stare off quietly and drink in his surroundings.
He either has eczema from his dad, or his skin is acting out due to the food allergy.  His poor forehead looks like the Sahara desert.  It is nothing but huge flakes of skin.  It's quite gross, but he still rocks it.  He's the
cutest little leper that you ever did see!
This picture was a really good day and does NOT do it justice!  It starts in his eyebrows and usually covers his entire forehead and ears. :(
He loves sleeping on his side (oh well to the back sleeping!) and napping in the boppy (I know you shouldn't do this either, but I always make sure I'm in the same room to watch him).  We also have to prop his head up at night since we think he might have reflux.
He also makes this little squawk when he's tired.  I know that's when it's prime time to put him down!
He still loves his hands and has fully mastered on how to get them into his trap.  Which  means a lot of drool sometimes!  I've tried telling him that drooling on people's shirts isn't classy, but he doesn't seem to care.
He's still so cuddly, which I adore.  Stay small little one, so I can always hold you--but get big at the same time so I can keep seeing your awesome personality develop, ok?

He's adorable!! So little! I think his 'eczema' is cradle cap! Both of my kids got cradle cap (kids with lots of hair are more likely to get it) and it pretty much looked like that. Scrub it HARD with the scrubby side of the bath sponge thing you got at the hospital during his next few baths and it should go away.

@Mindy--it's not wrong as long as you do not act on it :) Makes me smile though!!

My son had cradle cap so bad we had to shave his head at a year because it wouldn't go away :(. Without having his long hair in the way we used coconut oil on his scalp which really helped lift the flakes better. Then we did swirling motions with the scrub side of the bath sponge. It was gone in days and his skin was so soft from the oil. I'll even use it to shave my legs lol. Works great! I LOVE coconut oil! Good luck :)!
