Decoding Different Cries

Found this clip via Facebook and just had to share!  I know I've heard that babies have different cries/cues for things and heaven knows that I try to pay attention!  But, sometimes when you're sleep deprived, busy cooking or doing something else you don't always pick up on it.  And perhaps my hearing has gotten worse, but I would often get discouraged because I felt like I was listening so hard and not always distinguishing, or, if I could tell it was a different cry, I had no idea what it meant!  I didn't really want to admit this, because I felt like it made me a bad mom, or one that didn't get it like other moms.  But, I'm totally willing to admit it if it helps someone else.  I've tried these cries out and I really think that they will work, at least for me.  So hopefully, they'll work for someone else and help them soothe their baby.  It's true--I've always believed that babies work on natural reflexes and that they aren't just crying to cry--that they need something and this helps you decode them.  I'm gonna have to listen to this clip several times over to really get the difference between the 'eh and heh' cries.  Enjoy!

Watch the very interesting clip here.

PS--If what I said doesn't influence you to watch it, just know that it was on Oprah.  Oprah I tell you!  If that doesn't tell you it's important and life shattering, I don't know what will.  Hence why I left it for the end of the post. The real clincher :)
