Carter slept in his crib the entire night last night. I was a little sad. I always talked a big talk (surprising!) that I'd cart Carter off to his crib after a few days of being home. But...here we are, three and a half weeks later.
I'm torn though. It's nice to not have him squeaking and making noises so close to us (is this a sign he's going to be talkative like me?). However, it is also nice to have him so close, so all I have to do is roll over and grab him.
I can't decide what's worse, having his noises keep us up, or having to stumble into his room every time he cries.
Decisions, decisions!
When did all of you start putting your babes in the crib?

We put Dax in his crib when he was around 3 months I think. We all definitely slept better with him in his own room, but it is also really hard at the same time-you can't help but get lonely for them! :) Good luck! He's a doll!
We put Brycen in his crib when he was three months. We slept a lot better with him in his room. However, at first we would go in and check on him so much we still lost sleep! But it was a good thing. That seemed like a good age too.
As soon as company left he was in his crib. So about 3 weeks old. I think it helped him start sleeping through the night because I wouldn't mess with him when he made a noise and he was able to go back to sleep without interference. (the eat, play, sleep cycle helped with that as well)
Good luck!
A little over 2 months, maybe 2 1/2. She did just fine.
humans are wired to sleep near their mothers when they're little. many of them sleep better and wake less often (not all the time...every kid is different...some need total silence). and the risk of SIDS is lower when they're near their mother too. i think this is why it's so hard for us to put them in a room alone! m slept in her bassinet till she was 4 months old and didn't fit in it anymore. but her crib was in our room too (one bedroom apartment...blech), so there wasn't much difference. this time the baby is next to my bed again because i'm waaaay too lazy to walk to another room to feed him. and this way we both sort of stay asleep during his night feeding. so basically, i'm not a co-sleeping hippie...i just hate getting out of bed in the middle of the night, haha. but my babies are pretty quiet. so you gotta do what's best for everyone in the family...whatever will help everyone get the most rest. and if that means baby gets banished, that's the best decision.
